Dedication of Eastbound Ramp Access - Bridge of the Americas (BOTA)

-- Dedication of Eastbound Ramp Access - Bridge of the Americas (BOTA)

We are pleased to announce that there will be a dedication of the Eastbound Ramp from the Bridge of the Americas import lot to Interstate 10 and this event will occur at 11:00 am, on February 22, 2007.

Since the early 1990’s, the FTA has been actively involved in the advocacy and promotion of this eastbound access to the Interstate and through the successful effort of Congressman Silvestre Reyes, El Paso received federal funding to design and build this ramp which allows commercialt cargo mobility from the BOTA import lot to Interstate 10.

FASTPORT

In 2006 the Foreign Trade Association branded it’s cross border efforts to the development of a FASTPORT, which symbolizes a commitment to fast and secure international mobility within the Paso del Norte Region. The concept entails the promotion of pre-clearance programs such as the Dedicated Commuter Lane (DCL-Linea Express) as well as FAST Lanes for commercial cargo, and advocacy for additional international bridges to enhance logistical choices.

Low risk Port of Entry between BOTA & ZARAGOZA bridges

The City of El Paso is pursuing the construction of a new crossing for pre-clearance/low-risk vehicles and commercial cargo (DCL/FAST) to be located either at Avenida de las Torres – Yarborough or along the Border Highway, between Bridge of the Americas and Zaragoza Bridge.

Sincerely,

Stephanie H. Caviness
President
